Woman Sentenced To 50 Years For Repeated Child Sex Abuse

A 39-year-old woman from Nederland has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for repeatedly sexually abusing a child.

A jury found Tamora Angel Foster guilty on Friday and assessed the 50-year punishment.

District Judge Raquel West formally sentenced Foster on Monday.

In the summers of 2015 and 2016, Foster reportedly forced a child to engage in sexual intercourse and oral sex on separate occasions, according to Jefferson County prosecutors.

The victim was 11 and 12 years old at the time.

Kim Pipkin, who prosecuted the case, credited law enforcement, Child Protective Services, witnesses and the jury for their roles in securing the verdict.

“It’s hard to imagine a more emotional and disturbing set of facts than those in this case,” Pipkin said in a news release. “It was an especially difficult week for everyone involved.”

Foster has to serve every day of her sentence and will never be eligible for parole.

She must also register as a sex offender for the remainder of her life.

Woman Allegedly Pours Boiling Water On Toddler

A 24-year-old woman was taken into custody Sunday by sheriff’s deputies and charged with aggravated child abuse after she allegedly poured boiling water on the legs and feet of a 23-month-old while giving her a bath.

Ashley Dawn Randolph, of 1665 Fodderstack Mountain Loop, appeared in court on Monday in general sessions court on the felony charge.

On Saturday night, Police responded to Laughlin Memorial Hospital to investigate a child brought there with second-degree burns.

Randolph reportedly told officers she had used methamphetamine earlier in the day.

Randolph also told investigators that about 2 p.m. Saturday, she prepared to give the 23-month-old a bath, adding she “could not get the water hot so she boiled a pot of hot water and put it in the tub,” sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jimmy Willett said in a report.

Randolph then allegedly poured the water from the pot onto the child’s legs and feet, causing the second-degree burns, according to a report.

About 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Randolph took the child to Laughlin to be treated for the burns.

She was arrested the following day.

A relative told police Randolph “had a bad habit of boiling water and using it for bath water,” another report said.

No further information about the child’s condition was available.
