Recall Alert: Numerous Organic Baby Food Brands Recalled
Have you recently purchased any baby food pouches?
If so, you may want to check the labels.
The Canada Inspection Agency issued a nationwide recall of selected organic baby food varieties that come in pouches, due to a packaging defect.
The affected products include varieties of PC Organics and Love Child Organics.
All of the recalled product varieties come in 128ml pouches, and has best-before dates on or before “2019MA25”
The agency says that the defects could allow “spoilage microorganisms” to enter the product.
Consumption of the food may make young children or infants ill.
Consumer complaints triggered the recall, though there have been no reports of illness.
A full listing of the varieties involved in this recall is available by going to the Canada Inspection Agency website.
If you are in possession of any of the involved brands, you should either discard the food pouch or return them to the store for a refund.
If your child possibly consumed any of the brands, the agency suggests you should watch for symptoms such as an upset stomach, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Concerns should immediately be directed to your healthcare provider.
