Police Identify Girl’s Body Found In Duffel Bag As A 9-Year-Old
Police in California have identified the little girl whose body was found inside a duffel bag near an equestrian trail last week.
“She was 9-year-old Trinity Love Jones”, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The girl was reportedly a Los Angeles County resident.
The Coroner’s Office ruled the death to be that of a homicide, however the cause of death is being withheld. the sheriff’s department said.
“Investigators have detained two persons of interest in this case and they are actively continuing their investigation.”
The 9-year-old’s body had been found in Hacienda Heights, KTLA reported.
Antonio Jones told KTLA that Trinity was his youngest daughter and had been “full of character, full of life, full of joy.”
“Words can’t explain what I’m feeling right now,” he said. “I just want answers. I just want justice.”
Police say that the girl was found on Tuesday morning in the area south of Hacienda Boulevard and Glenmark Drive, just below a Buddhist temple.
Her head and upper body were protruding from the partially zipped roll-away black duffel bag.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Hoglund said last week, that authorities believed the girl had been left the evening of March 3 in light brush by the trail. However, it was not clear if she was dead or alive at the time.
