A father in Phoenix was accused reducing swelling to the legs and backside of his 2-year-old son by using frozen hot dogs.

On Tuesday, Phoenix police report that they arrested the 23-year-old Joshua Junior Rodriguez for child abuse that he allegedly inflicted upon his 2-year-old son on October 11.

Police say that after an argument, the boy’s mother was packing a bag to leave when she heard “whipping sounds” in the garage. When she came to take a look, she reportedly saw their son was being struck on the bottom with a strap from a duffel bag by Rodriguez.

She grabbed hold of the boy and took refuge in the house. However, Rodriguez pushed her away and grabbed the boy and brought him to the bedroom, removed his diaper and continued with striking him on the butt.

Rodriguez then threw him on the bed and spanked him 23 times, before taking him into the showers and when the boy tried to escape, the striking continued.
After seeing the injuries inflicted by him, Rodriguez allegedly placed a package of frozen hot dogs on his butt to reduce the swelling.

Couple punishes kids with shock collar, brushes their teeth with cat feces: Police

WXIN reported that Texas authorities said a San Antonio-area couple disciplined their three children by forcing them to brush their teeth with cat feces, beating them with a thorny switch and punishing them by using a shock collar.

32 years old James Chalkley and 22 years old Cheyanne Chalkley were reportedly charged with injury to a child and are both in custody.
James Chalkey faces an additional injury to a child charge from an arrest on October 6, Express-News reports. He is the biological father of two daughters, ages 5 and 10 and a son, age 3. Cheyanne Chalkley is reportedly the children’s stepmother.

Arrest warrants revealed that a teacher reported the parents to authorities in September when she noticed the 5-year-old had bruising.
A forensic nursing exam found various bruises at different stages of recovering on the younger girl. She reported to the officers that she would normally get spanked with a belt by her father and often sustained bruises.

Authorities said that by speaking with child protection workers, they discovered the extent of the children’s punishments, reported WXIN.
Court documents indicated that the 5-year-old reported to the officers that the green marks on her skin were the result of her father useing a dog’s shock collar on her.

Express-News obtained a warrant stating that during a police interview, the kids told officers their father told them they bruise easily and because of that authorities want to get their father into “trouble and break up their family.”
There haven’t been any attorney appointed for the Chalkleys, according to jail records.
