Mother Arrested After Toddler Drowns In Pool
A mother has been arrested after her toddler was found floating in a private Bartow County pool.
Firefighters tried to revive the young boy, but he had been under the water for too long.
The boy’s mother, Bobbie Jessica Prather, was arrested around 6 p.m. on Monday for felony murder and four counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, according to officials. The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office said 3 other children were taken into protective custody.
The incident happened at a home pool in Cartersville just after 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The circumstances surrounding the charges were not available, however, a mug shot of Prather was released Tuesday morning.
This is the second toddler drowning reported in Bartow County over the Memorial Day Weekend.
