Man Shoots Neighbour Attempting To Drown His 3-Month-Old Twins
A man in Oklahoma was fatally shot by a neighbour, after he allegedly attempted to drown his 3-month-old twins in a bathtub, police said.
Leland Foster, 27, reportedly threatened to kill the babies’ mother with a knife during the incident in an Ada, Okla., home on Friday.
Police received a call from a hysterical woman around 12:30 p.m. saying that a man was trying to kill her and her children. The woman could be heard screaming in the background, police spokeswoman Lisa Bratcher told The Ada News.
A 12-year-old girl who was in the home at the time apparently rushed over to neighbor Cash Freeman’s house for help.
Freeman grabbed a gun and rushed to the home where he found Foster trying to drown the twins, a boy and girl, in the bathtub. The neighbor then shot Foster twice in the back, which ended up killing him.
The babies were taken to a hospital in Oklahoma City and are in stable condition.
Freeman reportedly said that he felt he did the right thing. However, he’s concerned thathe may be in trouble.
A police spokesperson said that Freeman was questioned and released. The district attorney’s office will make a decision whether the killing was justified and if Freeman would face any charges.
