Kindergartener Wanders From LR School, Found Blocks Away
A kindergarten student from Little Rock who walked away from a local school on Tuesday morning was found safe soon after.
The Little Rock School District (LRSD) says that the incident occurred at the Forest Heights campus.
According to a LRSD statement, the boy had asked for permission from a paraprofessional to go to the nurse’s office, but left the campus instead.
The child was found walking toward Cantrell by a school district employee.
That employee then contacted the administration at Forest Heights and arranged for the student to be picked up and returned to campus.
“We are grateful that the student was safely returned to the school. The District is conducting a full investigation and reviewing our processes with the goal of preventing unfortunate situations such as this from occurring again. The safety of students and staff remains a priority for the Little Rock School District,” the statement read.
