Child Dies After A Mirror Falls On Her At A Georgia Shoe Store
Tragedy has struck for a family in Riverdale, Georgia- after a toddler was killed- in a Payless Shoe store.
Family members of the two-year-old girl say that a large mirror fell on top of her, while they were shopping on Friday night.
Ifrah Siddique was then taken to Southern Regional Hospital where she later died.
Police are calling it accidental and are saying it’s still under investigation.
The family believes the mirror was not secured, and they say it was so heavy her mother and another family member could barely pull it off of her.
“We’re pulling through, everybody is still grieving, and uh it’s really hard, we’re all still in a grieving, big state of shock,” said the toddler’s cousin, Aqib Iftkhar.
Latisha Culpatrick a witness to the tragedy said, “Cause I have a four year old which is why I felt sensitive just to help because I just saw the blood cause I thought she just had a seizure or something but i did not know it was that bad.”
Payless issued the following statement on Saturday night:
“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of Ifrah Siddique during this time of incredible loss. We are devastated by this tragic event and are fully cooperating with authorities to research and understand the nature of this accident. Out of respect for the family, no further information will be provided at this time.”
