Authorities Searching For Man Who Attempted To Kidnap Toddler
Authorities in Northwest Indiana are searching for an attempted kidnapping suspect who allegedly tried to grab a 1-year-old boy.
The boy’s father said that the man pulled up in front of his house in Fish Lake last Thursday evening and asked for a drink of water. The father went inside the house, and when he came out, he said he saw the man trying to stuff his son into a duffel bag.
The Dad was able to rescue his son and the boy was not hurt.
The suspect can be described as a white man in his 40s with brown, scruffy “surfer” type hair, 5’11” tall, 200 pounds and a stocky “athletic” build.
The man was described as having tan and leathery skin, crow’s feet around his eyes and unshaven. He was also described as wearing rings on the fingers of both hands.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white tee-shirt, gray camouflage shorts as well as brown work boots with white socks.
He was driving a silver or gray 1990’s model Ford Aerostar van, the La Porte County Sherrif’s Office said.
