3 Teenagers And Baby Shot At Alabama Easter Celebration
Alabama authorities are investigating after shots were fired during a carnival at a church in Center Point. Deputies say that 3 teenagers and a baby, less than a year old, were struck by gunfire.
Over 900 people were at Cathedral of the Cross for the Big Spring Carnival before the shooting started around 9:30 on Saturday night.
Around 60 officers and 35 firefighters and rescue crews responded to the call of reported gunshots.
Center Point Fire Chief Donnie West says that first responders were told a number of different stories at first and had to sift through the panic to figure out what happened.
The 4 victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
A pregnant woman was also taken to the hospital after being hurt after she was knocked to the ground.
Deputies say they have 5 people in custody for questioning and the investigation is ongoing.
