As firefighters tried to rescue a toddler who accidentally got locked inside a car, 14-month-old Brandon Green laughed at his rescuers.

The boy seemed to be enjoying his time inside the car, as he sat in the driver’s seat holding onto the steering wheel.

Kirsty was out shopping with her son and had just finished putting her shopping into the boot of the car when little Brandon somehow managed to trap himself inside. Instead of throwing a tantrum, Brandon seemed to enjoy the experience.

Kirsty said: “He’d been in the little child seat of the shopping trolley but it didn’t have any straps, so he kept trying to stand up while I was shopping.I decided to put him in the back of the car while I was unloading the shopping so he didn’t keep trying to stand up in the trolley.”

The Mom then accidentally put her keys in the boot, which became locked after Brandon pushed down the central locks inside the car.

She added: “I was a bit panicky at first, wondering how I was going to get him out, but luckily a few other shoppers quickly came to help me out, and one lady working in Lidl phoned 101. It wasn’t a particularly hot or sunny day so once I knew the rescue crews were on the way I knew he’d be fine.”

The crew then rocked up and began using tools to try and break into the car, but when Brandon picked up a 2p coin and put it in his mouth, the team decided to smash the rear driver’s side window.

Kirsty spoke praises of the rescue team, saying: “They were amazing, and I think just as much as they were keeping Brandon entertained, he was equally making them laugh.”

Brandon suffered no injuries and seemed to enjoy the whole episode!
