Toddler Dies After Fall In Pool
A toddler in Jacksonville has died on Saturday evening after falling into a pool in the city’s Greenland neighborhood near Mandarin High School.
Police say the boy fell in the pool just after 1 p.m. at a home on Collins Creek Drive.
A crime scene investigation van, multiple police cruisers and crime scene tape surrounded the home while investigators worked.
Neighbor, Carolina Scorza, who said she doesn’t know much about the people who live in the home, as they just moved in about a week ago.
“I have two grandkids. It’s just so sad,” Scorza said. “I don’t want to be in that situation.”
The toddler was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
