Toddler Accidentally Hangs Himself In Changing Room
Mankato, Minnesota Police have confirmed that a 4-year-old boy accidentally hanged himself, while alone in the changing room of a Minnesota thrift store.
Authorities confirmed that the incident happened on Saturday afternoon at Again Thrift & More in Mankato, operated by the Minnesota Valley Action Council.
The boy has been identified as Ryu Pena.
Police Commander Daniel Schisel says that the little boy apparently got the hooded sweatshirt he was wearing caught on a hanger which was attached to a wall. Emergency responders were called to the scene and took the boy to a hospital, where he was later declared dead.
Schisel said that the boys family members, who live in nearby St. James, were in the store at the time of the incident.
He noted the death as “a tragic accident” and says no charges are being pursued at this stage.
