A Scott man has been arrested on child pornography charges by Attorney General investigators.

Larry Guidry, 24, has been booked with 500 counts possession of pornography depicting children younger than 13.

Guidry was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center following a joint investigation between the Attorney General’s Office, Homeland Security, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Scott Police Department.

He posted $40,000 bond and has since been released, jail records indicate.

Mom Charged With Poisoning Her 3 Kids During Messy Custody Battle

The thought of a parent purposely hurting her kid is so dreadful it’s almost unthinkable.

A 37-year-old Mom of three has been accused of doing the unthinkable after she allegedly poisoned her three young children in the midst of a custody battle with her ex-husband.

The Mother was charged with one count of attempted capital murder and her bond was set at $1 million.

Further investigation of court records showed that Therese and John Roever have been fighting over custody of their kids since their divorce in 2016.

John Roever has full residential custody of all 3, but over the course of their custody battle, Therese Roever made several allegations of abuse against her ex-husband.

Officials claim to have found no evidence to support these claims.

In June 2017, a judge ruled that the Mother made “fake reports regarding the children,” and demanded that her visitation with her kids be supervised by a third party individual.

In November 2017, however, that order was changed, and Therese Roever was permitted to have unsupervised visits with her children.

The Kansas City Star reported that Therese and John Roever were set to appear in court on Tuesday, February 20, as part of their ongoing custody battle. That hearing was, of course, canceled after Therese’s attempted murder of her kids.

The Kansas City Star reported that officers were called to Therese Roever’s apartment in Olathe, Kansas, on Monday evening at around 7 p.m.

The children’s father, John Roever, arrived at the home to pick up the couple’s 3 children from their scheduled visit with their Mother.

Fox 4 reported that neighbors heard John banging on his ex-wife’s front door for some time before police were called.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly found Therese Roever, her 9-year-old daughter, and her 7- and 9-year-old sons seriously ill and in need of immediate medical attention.

In a press release, police said the Mother gave herself and her kids “a substance meant to harm them.”

All four had to be hospitalized in serious condition.

Therese Roever was released late on Monday evening and booked into the Johnson County Jail. The children are alive and are recovering in the hospital.

John Roever has not commented on the traumatic incident that almost took the lives of his children, but his attorney, Randy McCalla, did give a short update on the kids’ condition, saying in a statement, “Thankfully the children are recovering and should be returning home very soon.”
