Mom arrested after she lets her toddler try wasabi for the very first time.

Seriously?

So now you know – this may happen if you allow your child to try wasabi, record it for the world to see, and worse, laugh at your toddler’s reaction.

It’s no wonder that so many people are calling this child abuse as it’s a clip that is very hard to watch! 

There are several different forms of child abuse out there and each one should be taken very seriously. But would you allow your children to try something that is definitely hot and too much for them to handle?

As a Mother, I know exactly what my kids can take and what their limitations are.

With that being said, I would still never make them try something that would be uncomfortable for them. It’s just not right.

The video begins innocently enough. “You want to try wasabi?” the mom asks, to which the little girl immediately replies “no.”

You can tell by her face that she knows what’s coming.

Either this child has had this before (and that mom simply doesn’t want to admit to it on camera) or she knows something hot is coming!

If you think that this is just like one of those videos of babies and toddlers trying lemons for the first time, it’s not. The toddler tries the wasabi in her mouth for a few seconds, looks in the camera, and cries, “Help.” To me, that’s not funny at all.

In fact, very few people thought that this was funny. Some comments have included, “Not only is that not adorable, but I’m sure that’s borderline abuse. That poor girl. She also wasn’t really “warned,” more like coaxed into it. Why would the mom laugh at her reaction.”

Another person wrote, “I’m sorry, I don’t typically get offended by this kind of stuff but wasabi is freaking hot – not something I’d give a child – and then the poor baby says help at the end.”

We have to agree with the critics with this one. Could you imagine someone giving you wasabi but giving you no warning about how dangerously hot it might be?

 For the Mom to just sit there and laugh at the poor girl was especially horrible to watch.
As parents, we don’t want to see our children in pain. I mean, what kind of fun is that?
