Mom Shares Photo With Newborn On Instagram, Then Followers Tell Her She Has An Infection

Zoe Hendrix, former reality TV star and new mom, has been sharing her pregnancy and life with a newborn on social media.

She recently came down with a fever and shared a photo of herself on Instagram with the following caption:

“I’m in bed with a temp of [102.2], sore throat, body aches and an 8 week old. I salute all you mums/dads with chronic and serious illness who get up everyday and push through the pain and take care of your kids. this sh*t is hard.” 

Zoe and her husband, Alex Garner, were part of the reality television show Married At First Sight. They literally met on their wedding day and fell totally in love after their wedding.

Last November, Zoe and Alex welcomed a baby girl, Harper-Rose, to their family. They are loving the new family dynamic and have been sharing excited photos with their followers online.

Everything was going really well until Zoe became ill and she just assumed it was the flu.

Zoe figured that she was probably just worn out from the lack of sleep and the busy schedule with a newborn.

After she posted the picture of her not looking and feeling so good, her followers commented by saying that she might be suffering from something much more severe than just the flu – mastitis.

Mastitis is an infection which is caused by a clogged milk duct. It can lead to abscesses and may require hospitalization, and even surgery.

Zoe then went to the doctor who then gave her antibiotics. Following this, she once again posted to Instagram thanking her followers:

“THANK YOU to all you wonderful and switched on followers who informed me about Mastitis in my last post (which I thought was just the flu) I have been on antibiotics, pain relief, and my angel of a mother in law has been helping me care for Harper. 

“I am starting to feel human again after feeling like I was hit by a truck.”
