Jennifer Lopez Receives Criticism For How She’s Raising Her Kids

These days, you don’t have to look very far to find a Mother that is being shamed in one form or another.  Lately, celebrity Moms have been feeling the brunt of it. From Kim Kardashian, her sister Kourtney and even the Queen B has been the target of Mom shaming for various reasons.

The internet can be so cruel.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Lopez says that her 8-year-old twins Emme and Max are being homeschooled simply because she doesn’t get to see them as often as she would like to because of her gruesome work schedule.

With the kids at her side, not only do they get to continue learning, but they also have more opportunities to spend time as a family.

She said, “We don’t have a normal life. I don’t have normal kids. I’m not normal. So our life is not normal. I’ve come to terms with that.”

What’s more, Lopez says that she always feels so pressured to send her children to a traditional school so her kids can have the same experiences as other kids their age.

She further explained, “Everybody’s like, ‘You should have them in school, they need friends.’ It drives me – it can drive you crazy. They are super happy, well-adjusted, loving, caring kids, and that’s the most important thing. We’ll get them educated – homeschool is great for them, when we have to do it. The most important thing is that they’re with their mom — that they don’t feel abandoned by a parent.”

Unfortunately, her critics are now blasting her by commenting with, “Seriously? She comes off so self-absorbed it’s disgusting. Her kids should be in school even if it’s a private school! The kids need to be around their own kind to learn how to socialize and interact. I believe she is doing more harm than good!” along with:

“They should go to school. She’s just to lazy and selfish to be bothered with that. And she figures they will just live off her money later on anyway. Just because she dropped out of college, doesn’t mean they should be educated. They need to be properly educated! Not just when she “thinks” they need it.”

Well if it works for Jennifer and her kids are happy – who are these critics to judge?

Just a few weeks ago Beyoncé took some flack after posting some pics of her night out. She had given birth to twins about a month before and the singer shared photos on Instagram of her date night with her husband, rapper Jay-Z.

In one of the pictures shared, Beyoncé is drinking a glass of what appears to be red wine.

People flocked to the comments to not only inappropriately discuss her cleavage, but also speculate as to whether the singer is breastfeeding or not.

Some assumed that Beyoncé was breastfeeding and criticized her for having a glass of wine. A few others figured that she’d stopped nursing and complained that the twins were “already” on formula.

Other commenters, however, pointed out that the singer could have pumped before having a glass of wine to ensure her twins would have breast milk or could be using formula, another perfectly sufficient option for babies.

Another, who identified as a fellow breastfeeding mother, summed up her support with three letters: “YAS!

After she gave birth to Blue, Beyoncé told People magazine she breastfed for 10 weeks and encouraged other women to do the same.

I lost most of my weight from breastfeeding and I encourage women to do it; it’s just so good for the baby and good for yourself,” she said.

Since having the twins, she has not commented on her new additions, which makes the speculative comments even more uncalled for.
