Heartbreaking: After 15-Year-Old Girl Dies. Obituary Goes Viral After Family Calls out Who’s Responsible
It’s not often that an obituary contains highly personal material could send a strong social message out into the world. But with the bloom of social media, this possibility is becoming reality.
The family of Sadie Riggs, a 15-year-old from Bedford, Pennsylvania felt that it’s needed to be done in this circumstance. They were not going to let it “slip by.”
Their loving Sadie died on June 19, 2017. The hard-hitting document started by boldly stating she “took her own life.”
The family wanted everyone to know why. They would not be stopped from getting the message out.
Once you read the obituary, you would understand why it had quickly gone viral. It’s something everyone should read and share if they have kids…
Miss Sadie L. Riggs, 15, of Bedford, took her own life on Monday, June 19th, 2017. The obituary continued with personal insight into Sadie’s struggles, and the family’s greatest wish following her death.
In an effort to debunk the rumors about Sadie’s death we would like to share this information. Yes, Sadie took her own life, she hung herself.
It is hard to fathom that someone so young could be so troubled. Sadie was searching for help, she was in counselling and taking medication, but it was all too much for such a young soul to live with.
If you take a minute and look at Sadie’s family dynamics you will see that a large percent of the people in her life were not not related to her by blood, but she was sent to us by God who knew this child needed a family. Sadie had a tough life and until a recent incident at school she handled everything life served her.
For a young lady so excited about going to the High School things sure went terribly wrong for her. For the bullies involved, please know you were effective in making her feel worthless.
That is all between you and God now, but please know that it is not too late to change your ways. Sadie’s death had taken us to dark places, we will stick together and protect one another as we try to make sense of this tragic loss.
To all the bullies out there, I just want you to know that as much as we despise your actions, never, ever did we wish for you to feel the paralyzing pain that engulfs our bodies, a pain so severe that it makes the simple act of breathing difficult or the guilt that leaves us wondering what we could have done differently-or that struggle to remember the last words we spoke…Our hearts are beyond broken.
Sadie, it was a privilege to have you in our lives and we will always love you. May you find peace in the arms of God and may we all be kind to one another.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Sadie ask that you be kind to one another.
How gut wrenching it must have been for the family to put this together. How difficult it must have been to know they no longer have Sadie among them and that others out there were responsible for her drastic measures.
Bullying is the use of force or coercion to abuse. It’s an attempt to dominate someone and those responsible should have to answer for their actions.
It doesn’t always necessary to be physical. It can involve attacks related to a variety of topics including race, appearance, religion and social class among others.
Bullying can be done by individuals or with the “power of the pack” as well. When it’s habitual, it shall begin to take a heavy toll.
Some can handle it and some cannot, but the point is, no one should have to. It would not be a bad idea to utilize this example in teaching people about the power of bullying and how devastating it could be.
Sadie’s family giving her suicide a voice might have been a way to cope. It’s definitely a way to assist others so as to prevent this type of thing from ever happening to them.
It was a way to give meaning to Sadie’s suffering. It is an attemp to bring an impact and make a difference.
Prayers for the family. We can always honor their wishes by being kind to one another.
According to authorities, the hazmat team investing the white substance concluded it was a non-toxic baby powder.
BREAKING NEWS: Two Naked Children Covered In White Powder, Including Dead Baby, Found In Parking Lot
Authorities found an unconscious woman and her two small children in a Los Angeles parking lot on Thursday, covered in layer of white powder. The youngest child, a baby girl, later died.
Los Angeles Times reports that around 1:45 a.m. on early Thursday morning, police responded to a call regarding a screaming woman on San Pedro and 23rd St. When they arrived, they discovered a woman, her 8-year-old daughter, and a 1 to 2-month old baby, all covered in a white powdery substance. The woman, assumed to be around 26 or 27 years old, was lying unconscious in a parking lot behind a business. Her children, also unconscious, were found lying next to her.
Authorities rushed the family to a local hospital. While the woman was now in stable condition, the 8-year-old girl was listed in stable condition. The baby did not make it, but it’s still unclear what caused the death.
According to Sunhee Chung, a woman who manages a nearby liquor store, the mom and her children were in the parking lot on Wednesday night, all naked and covered in white powder. The woman stood on the corner breastfeeding the infant. Shortly after, the woman reportedly began walking car to car, trying to open the doors on each vehicle.
Johnett Green, a neighbor, told police she saw the woman arguing with her boyfriend earlier that night. She indicated that the boyfriend would often scream and curse at her, and once broke a window looking for her. Green said the woman appeared to be sober.
“That’s why I’m very amazed and wondering how in the hell this could happen,” Green said.
Officers reported responding to a deadly assault threat earlier that night at the home where it the woman was said to live. LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez noted white powder in one of the rooms, but with no evidence of a crime, they left.
CBS LA reports that the hazmat team is currently processing the white powder to determine what it is.
The woman and her children had no signs of external injuries.
The story was still developing. Check back with us as additional details become available.
