Jamilia Hodge, a 32-year-old foster mother of a toddler found dead in Northwest India, is facing felony charges which include murder in connection with the toddler’s death.
Hodge was charged with murder, aggravated battery, neglect of a dependent resulting in death as well as several other charges, Police say. On Thursday, Police responded to a call in the 7500 block of Ash Ave. in Gary, Indiana.
When they arrived, they discovered a 20-month-old girl, unresponsive.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene and was identified as Emma Salinas.
An autopsy did not provide any information about the girl’s injuries, pending further investigation, but the death has been ruled a homicide.
