There are so many complexities in each family.

Family dynamics could be one way looking in from the outside and the reality, what is behind closed doors, can be totally different. And many people are wondering if that’s what was going on in this family.

Because it’s difficult to understand what would drive a dad to allegedly take the lives of his whole family before turning the gun on himself.

But that seems to be what happened to one family who were stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.

News reports say that Clint Field, a 29-year-old airman, is being indicated as the person who took the lives of his family and then himself.

These stories are so  heartbreaking for the rest of the family as they try to make sense of what happened.

Losing a loved one, unexpectedly, has to be a very difficult time to say the least.

And then learning that one of those family members is said to be responsible?

And trying to calm the voices in your head that question if you could have helped. Or stopped this in anyway.

This is what the the family and community are feeling as one dad is accused of the unthinkable.

The sheriff’s department said, “At 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday March 13, 2018, a man called 911 and told dispatchers that he had killed his wife, daughter, and son; the caller went on to say the he was armed and was going to kill himself, then he hung up the phone. Dispatchers made multiple attempts to call the man back but their calls went unanswered.”

When they arrived, they found the two kids and their mom in their beds and it appeared that Clint had also shot himself before the emergency services arrived.

Samantha’s father, Tom Reardon told KOMO 4 News that he and his family are devastated.

“Our hearts are broken, we lost half our family in one person’s selfish act.”

  I can’t even imagine…

According to the sheriff’s office the family had no other reports of distrubace or abuse but no calls to the emergency services over any fights or anything.

The sheriff’s office report says,”Initial information from military investigators indicate that the suspect may have received treatment for depression related issues and has recently been despondent over a pending divorce. There have been no previous contacts by our department at the residence and no known history of domestic violence.”

Detective Ed Troyer of the Sheriff’s Department told reporters that investigations said that Clint might have experienced suicidal thoughts in the past. Clint was deployed earlier to South Korea and he returned 14 months ago.

Samantha’s Father said that he had no reason to suspect or believe his son-in-law was battling depression.

The investigators are still interviewing and trying to figure out what happened.

Sending our love to the family as they try to get through this.
