Circumcision To Only Be Done When Boys Are Able To Consent, Says Medical Association
Circumcision is usually a private family decision to make for their baby boy and it’s something people don’t usually talk about.
Now, medical professionals in Denmark are stating that parents should not be allowed to make a decision on their children’s behalf when it comes to circumcision.
The Huffington Post, recently said that the Danish Medical Association has recommended that no boys under the age of 18 be circumcised in Denmark. The Association believes that when parents have their male children circumcised, it robs the boys of the ability to make decisions about their own bodies and their own cultural and religious beliefs.
“To be circumcised should be an informed, personal choice. It is most consistent with the individual’s right to self-determination that parents not be allowed to make this decision but that it is left up to the individual when he has come of age,” Lise Møller, the chairwoman of the doctors’ association’s ethics board, said.
The majority of Parents and medical experts in the United States believe that circumcision makes it simpler to wash the penis. Washing beneath the foreskin of an uncircumcised penis is generally easy and the overall risk of urinary tract infections in males is low, however, these infections are more common in uncircumcised males.
Circumcision is the most common surgical procedure performed in the US. Over a million newborn males are circumcised by doctors each and every year. The procedure is sometimes recommended in older boys and men to treat phimosis or to treat an infection of the penis.
In terms of banning circumcision altogether, it might not happen just yet. Lisa Moeller said, “We have discussed it thoroughly, also in our ethics committee. We came to the conclusion that it is difficult to predict the consequences of a ban – both for the involved boys, who could, for example, face bullying or unauthorized procedures with complications – and for the cultural and religious groups they belong to.”
The organization also said that when parents have their sons circumcised, it robs boys of the ability to make decisions about their own bodies. The suggest that boys should be able to choose their cultural and religious beliefs for themselves.
To add – Protesters in Detroit recently argued that male circumcision should be outlawed.
“All babies should be protected and be able to keep their whole bodies,” said Julie Colon, who attended the protest with her toddler son on her back, as per the Detroit Free Press. “There’s just no reason for any child to be altered at birth or really anytime.”
Parents, please talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks of the procedure before making a decision regarding circumcision for your baby boy.

Never never ever retract an intact child. That’s what causes infections. The foreskin is attached to the glans (head) at birth & becomes retractable on its own around puberty. Only clean what is seen. Wipe like a finger from base to tip. Savingsons.org

That is wrong for the first several years of life, when the foreskin is still fused to the glans (head) and only the outside needs to be washed. After that it is a simple matter for the boy to do himself.

– and quick and not unpleasant.

Put some numbers to that. By the cutting advocates’ own calculation, more than 100 (probably many more) boys would have to be cut in vain to prevent one from getting a UTI.

The rate is going down. Intact boys and men are increasingly common, so conformity is no longer an issue.

But in the USA, it’s recommended more often than it need be, because doctors are taught nothing about the foreskin except how to cut it off. For that reason, talking only to your doctor is not the best advice. As the article indicates, infant male genital cutting is not just a medical issue (if it is one at all, when it’s not done in most of the developed world), but a human rights issue.

1. Urinary tract Infections are NOT more comon in intact boys than in circumcused. At birth the foreskin adher to the glans all the way to the meatus, so the forskin is natures own sterile sealing og the meatus and the urianry tract. Unless you or your doctor forcefully retract the foreskin and break the sealing.
2. Ask your doctor about the functions of the foreskin. If he doesn’t know, don’t listen to his advices concerning foreskin, and don’t let him cut it off.

If cutting off even a minuscule part of a girl’s genitals—no matter what the intent is—is illegal, then surely chopping of even more from a boy’s genitals should also be illegal—no matter what the intent is.
Either we have gender equality in the U.S.A. or we don’t. Half measures are simply sexist.

Julie Colon is a humane mother, an American doctor should not be trusted to give impartial advice where there is money to be made. Here in the UK male genital cutting went out of FASHION about 65 years ago when urologists concluded that it had no health benefits. The result is that most boys grow up intact and healthy. I was unlucky, an ignorant GP ruined my penis, then it was a family secret. I learned of the harm from another boy when I got to puberty. I kept MY son whole so that he can choose for himself, as can his contemporaries. No sex, no orgasm for me for many years. Until I got on the Internet about 1993 I assumed that the nasty procedure had died out everywhere. Until it is totally ended, children will continue to suffer.

The world knows males and females are both equally multi orgasmic. The USA knows females are but men are not, so females are charmed and are sexually different than men. Circumcision IS the great divide it makes everything different negatively. The difference is cut men have lost their primary penile seniors, being the frenular loop, an array of breath catching pleasure that is located in the foreskin inside tip. And when erect and retracted, this array aligns along the length of the penis almost the entire length. Imagine having this compared to just a 1/2-1 inch portion under the glans. For good reason, history knows circumcision is actually circumutilation proper to slavery. (Egyptian hieroglyphs). We are not free men. Have no sexual freedom. We are prevented from truly understanding ourselves through our body. Prevented to experience inherent pleasure and body communication. Forced circumutilation is all about power over others. Its motto cry to others is “Shut UP!”. Stop carving beliefs into boys’ genital flesh. Their penis is not a signpost. End this exploitation.
