Buried Alive Toddler Saved By Mesa Men

While vacationing at Newport Beach California, 3 Mesa men came to the rescue when a toddler became buried alive in the sand.

Stuart Frost, his twin brother Steve, and his nephew Jesse Martin were with their families on the beach when they came across a mother who was frantically screaming, looking for 2-year-old son who had just gone missing.

The Mother was desperately trying to find her son and a lifeguard was notified, but although there were many holiday makers on the beach, nobody stepped up to help.

Stuart said

“nobody was doing anything so I said to my brother Steven and few family members, ‘Let’s go and help this lady.’“

The men sprang into action and their efforts saved the toddler’s life.

Stuart said that the boy had been playing in one of the two big holes that had been dug in the sand, nearby where the woman and her family were set up. The mother told the trio that she was applying sunscreen on her other child and when she looked again her son had disappeared.

The men instantly realized the child may have been buried and began digging.

The men managed to dig the toddler out of the sand and revived him.

Stuart said

“I’ll never forget it as long as I live. I looked over there and (Jesse) says, ‘I found him,’ and he’s reaching down and finding this little boy in a blue swimsuit and he’s pulling him by the hips out of the hole”

When the boy was pulled out from the sand, his face was pale and his mouth was filled with sand. The men estimated that the child may have been buried for about five minutes before Steve began chest compressions.

They notice some movement and Stuart said to his brother

“Steve this is working, keep going’ … all of a sudden his lip quivered and I said, ‘Steve, he’s coming back keep going”

Eventually the toddler started crying and screaming for his mother. He was then taken to a nearby hospital where he made a full recovery.

2 days after the incident the families met at the beach once again, but this time it was drama-free and the reunion was all about thank-you’s and hugs of gratitude.
