Mother Gets Amazing Miscarriage Tattoo To Inspire Others

For some reason there has always been a stigma surrounding miscarriage.

Talking about miscarriages can be perceived as taboo and often times get swept under the rug by those going through it.

However, by doing this we are doing such a disservice to women who are going through this painful time in their lives.

One California mom decided she has had enough and wanted to inspire other women going through the same struggles. Shortly after Joan Bremer suffered a miscarriage she decided she wanted to honor her child by getting a tattoo.

Joan’s tattoo is a beautifully designed image of two hearts within one connecting the mom and the unborn child.

“I know there is a certain silence about miscarriages and pregnancy losses, but I am not ashamed that this happened to me. That was one of my motivations for getting the tattoo in the first place—I really think it’s healing to be able to talk about it,” she said, according to Parents Magazine.

We couldn’t agree with Joan more. Women who have suffered a miscarriage need to feel safe in talking about what they are going through.

Talking is often the best way to get through your pain, so there is no need for women to feel as though they should suffer through this in silence. Talk about what you are going through and share your story. You’d be surprised how many others are dealing with the same situation…

“This is so incredibly common, but it’s not a subject that people want to talk about. “It happened to us, and it’s happened to countless other people. I want to be able to share and talk about it, and in talking about it move on from the pain and disappointment,” she said, according to Pop Sugar.

It’s time we stop making women feel as though this is something they need to hide or something they should not feel sad about.

Having a miscarriage is no different than having trouble conceiving. Both are equally as important and equally painful.
