Fathers Vehicle Accidentally Hits Toddler Son
A toddler struck by a vehicle in Derby has died.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says that a 26-year-old man was working on a vehicle in his driveway when the accident happened.
They say that around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, the man moved the vehicle and struck his 22-month-old son.
The boy’s family took him to a Derby emergency room with critical injuries and he was later transferred to a hospital in Wichita.
The sheriff’s office says that the boy died from his injuries the following morning at the hospital.
“After an extensive investigation by detectives and forensic investigators with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, there was nothing found to indicate that this was anything other than a tragic accident,” said the sheriff’s office.
