Man Arrested In Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Accident

Brownsville police have arrested the driver in an auto-pedestrian accident which killed a toddler.
The Brownsville Fire Chief Deputy, Ernie Estrada,, said the 2-year-old was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
The child’s mother is currently listed in critical condition.
Emergency responders were called to the 5200 block of Padre Island Highway and authorities say according to witness testimony, Mother and her 2-year-old son were walking on the shoulder when the 72-year-old driver swerved off of the roadway and struck them.
The driver was arrested for Criminal Negligent Homicide as well as Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury.
The driver has not been named as yet.
