A five-week-old girl was found dead at home by her parents on Boxing Day
Parents have been left heartbroken after their five-week-old baby was found dead on Boxing Day morning.
The baby girl, Peggy June Jarvis was found unresponsive at their family home near Marske, East Cleveland, at around 5am.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in the aftermath of the baby’s absolutely tragic death, where there has been an outpouring of emotion for the little girl and the family.
On the page, Peggy’s father Paul wrote: ‘Thank you to each and everyone of use I know how hard it is this time of year it is taking a massive weight off mine and Sarah’s shoulders.
‘Anything left over will get donated to the ambulance service and James cook for the great help we love you all xxx.’
John Everington said: ‘Thinking of you Peggy June fly high little angel xxxx thoughts are with you both love aunty shirley and uncle john.’
Sarah Turnbull said: ‘Thinking of you all. A beautiful baby girl too precious for this world Fly high little on.’
Antony Moore said: ‘Our hearts and thoughts are with you all.’
To date, £5,030 has been donated to Peggy’s funeral costs, smashing the original target of £1,000.
Lee Ivo, who set up the page, wrote: ‘Let’s raise some funds for the best possible send off for our lovely Peggy June Jarvis. Every donation counts no matter how small. RIP PEGGY.’
Ivo said he started the fundraising page with his partner Kirstie after hearing about the tragic news.
He said:‘We have a baby who is seven or eight months old, and you can’t imagine how awful it must be,’ he added.
‘You wouldn’t know what to do in that situation as it is the last thing you expect.
‘It has just been a massive shock to us all.’
An inquest into Peggy’s death is expected to be opened by Teesside Coroner Service, Gazette Live has reported.
