A boy was thrown from a 3-story waterslide’s landing, at the opening day of a new California water park.
The East Bay Times reported that the 10-year-old was riding the Emerald Plunge at the Saturday opening of The Wave in Dublin, California when he was launched from the waterslide and landed on to the concrete below. The ride had been open for just 90 minutes.
The ride was immediately closed after the incident and spokeswoman Shari Jackman said they are “reevaluating that slide.”
The paper reports that the child was “shaken up” with a scratched shoulder, however, he was able to walk away from the incident and be treated at the park’s first aid.
