Do you love kids as much as we do?
We’re Kids Safety Network – and as our audience grows, we’re looking for writers that can grow with us, authoring stories that enlighten, entertain, and empower parents of all ages, races, and genders.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for articles about child safety. This includes, but isn’t limited to: product recalls, personal experiences, mental or physical health conditions, or accident prevention.
Things aren’t easy for freelancers. Assignments are tough, there’s not always enough time, and the payments are never what they should be. But it’s our hope that we can buck that trend and present an environment you can be proud of for a long time to come.
We’re not a fly-by-night company. Our articles are syndicated to all of our active social media channels, and when we publish, your work will be seen by thousands or even hundreds of thousands of parents.
Our platform is your platform. We give our writers a full by-line and link to their online presence. This means traffic to your own website, and a serious boost to your credibility as a freelancer.

The Rules:
- Any contribution must be your own original work. Like most places, we’ve got a strict “no plagiarism” policy.
- Check categories on the site to see where your topic will sit, and include this in your submission.

- Your piece should not infringe upon any copyright, right of privacy, proprietary right, right of publicity or any other right of any other third party.
- We do not accept previously published work.
- Submissions must be edited. You don’t need to hire a specialist, just give your work a once-over before you send it our way. We also reserve the right to make our own edits as we consider appropriate.
- Your submissions may not include affiliate links to any product or service.
- Please submit an author bio (2-3 sentences), a personal photo and links to your own blog and social media channels.
Style And Formatting:
Kids Safety Network strives to produce fresh, relevant, instructive content. Here are a few notes on the voice and tone to use in your writing for us.
- Friendly and accessible, but not overly casual.
- Helpful and knowledgeable, but not salesy or pushy.
- Expert, but not packed with jargon.
- Fun, but not slapstick or childish. Don’t swear.
- Avoid abbreviating any words that the audience won’t understand immediately.
- Spell out full name on first reference, followed by the acronym.
- Use contractions (it’s, you’re, they’re, she’s) in your writing.
- Use single spaces between sentences.
- When a quotation opens a blog post, indent it using the “quote” button on the editing toolbar, and italicize.
- Don’t use periods after list items, even if they form complete sentences. Similarly, don’t use semicolons or “and” after list items.
Ex.
- Don’t give out personal information
- Keep passwords private, except from parents
- Tell an adult if you receive a mean or strange message
Avoid heavy, overwhelming paragraphs! They should be broken down into short, readable chunks of four or five lines at most.
What Does It Pay?
- We prefer articles that are brief and memorable, around 300-400 words in length. Look around our site for examples. Our payment is dependant on the quality and novelty of the article.
- Ask yourself: is your article relatable? Is it a fresh topic that parents should be aware of it, is it shareable?
- We pay via PayPal as soon as your article is published. Invoices are required.
Your Rights:
- We purchase the publication rights for KidsSafetyNetwork.com with electronic rights allowing us to place the article on our website.
