Tyrese Gibson Sobs ‘Please Don’t Take My Baby’ in Emotional Plea to Ex-Wife

Tyrese Gibson has posted an emotional video amid a contentious custody battle for Shayla, his only 10-year-old child.
On Wednesday, an almost seven-minute long video was posted to Facebook by the Fast and Furious actor, in which he started out talking about his feud with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson before mentioning his ex-wife, Norma Mitchell Gibson. Gibson starts openly crying as soon as he showed off a “Shayla Rocks” sweatshirt,.
“Don’t take my baby. This is all I got. Don’t take my baby, okay?” said Gibson. Then, he started sobbing: “I’ve been away from my baby for two months. I just want my baby and no one’s listening cause no one’s in the courtroom.”
The actor continued to cry and pace around the room before he started talking directly to Norma again.

Gibson said and cried: “I’m at $13,000 a month, what more do you want from me?” I don’t hate you Norma. I don’t know why you hate me, but I don’t hate you. But you just can’t wake up on September 11th and accuse me of something I didn’t do!”
According to court documents, on Aug.1, Norma accused Gibson of abusing their daughter with violent behavior such as “pushed our daughter to the ground, pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other.”
Norma — who get maried to Gibson in 2007 and get divorced in 2009 — alleged the actor to hit Shayla “between 12 and 16 times,” as a result, the child araigned to her mother that “Mum, Dad beat me so hard that it hurts when I sit down” in correspondings with the fact that she couldn’t sit down due to pain.
Gibson previously told PEOPLE in a statement that such accusation were “hurtful lies.”

In her declaration, Norma claimed that the diagnosises of three psychotherapists had confirmed Gibson’s bipolar disorder and manic behavior. However, he protested these decisions. She also “deeply concerned” about the actor taking their daughter to Dubai, where he has allegedly threatened to travel in the past. Moreover, he refused to return their daughter’s passport to her when she requested.
She also claimed that there was a certain inhbition caused by her ex to stop Shayla from keeping in touch with her while their daughter stayed with him.
Beside alleging that he abused their daughter, Norma also wrote in her declaration that he had tendecy toward “beating on the people he is in conflict with” and he had hit her “a number of times in the past including when I was pregnant with our daughter.”
Khanjian, Norma’s defender previously told PEOPLE that by taking legal action, “Norma wants Tyrese, her ex-husband, to receive the therapy he needs so that their daughter can have the relationship with her father she deserves. Norma wishes nothing but the best for Tyrese and is willing to support him, through the courts, to become the father he wants to be.”
