Teacher Leaves Encouraging Notes On Students Desks

Some teachers just know how to motivate their students, but when a teacher doodles personalized messages on the desks of all her students, just before a set of big exams- that certainly deserves special acknowledgement!

This is exactly what Chandni Langford,a fifth grade teacher in the Woodbury school system in New Jersey, has done.

The school took to Facebook and posted pictures of the personalized notes which were written with dry-erase markers. Langford even accessorized the desks with donut holes!

The school captioned the images by saying:

To motivate her 5th grade students, Mrs. Langford at Evergreen Avenue prepared inspirational, growth-mindset messages for every one of her students. Each personalized note was written in dry erase marker on students’ desks so they could be cleaned up prior to starting PARRC.”

This post to Facebook has been shared over 20 000 times and is making parents wish that Langford was their kids teacher!

Langford apparently got this idea from Pinterest and connected the messages with the “growth mindset” learning strategy – a method which she has been using with her students for a few months.

The students were clearly pleasently surprised by the gesture and their nerves for the up and coming exams were put at ease.
