Signs Of Human Trafficking Taking Place

A staggering 40 percent of human trafficking reported cases in the U.S. involved the sexual exploitation of a child, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics. Kids as young as 12 years-old are being trafficked for sexual exploitation.

What are the signs of a child who is being exploited?

  1. A child who often does household chores
  2. This child will rarely leave the house
  3. A child who is inappropriately dressed or looks malnourished

What are the signs an adult is exploiting a child:

If you spot any of the signs above it is important to note that it does not necessarily mean a child is being trafficked. However should you suspect, do not confront the suspected trafficker, rather call emergency services.
