Even before a baby is born, a Mother to be will be well-acquainted with the many and sometimes contradictory “dos and don’ts” of parenting.
Some you’ll find never apply to you and others you’ll find to be a life-saver.
And there’ll be those times where in spite of everything you know and have been told, something will go wrong, and it’s only because you’re only human.
For example, leaving mobile babies on beds. We know the danger associated with this is they’ll fall off and injure themselves.
Paige Ferguson is all-too aware of this, after her son Colton sustained devastating head injuries from falling off a bed, and she wants other parents to be aware of the dangers.
It was at this point that Paige was hit with a shocking blow.
She continues: “Not the case…He fractured his skull and bled half of his entire blood volume into his brain.
“I’m going to be blunt here…Colton may not live. Colton may live and never walk or talk, Colton may be fine, Colton may be delayed.”
With Colton’s condition and the long-term severity of his injuries “up in the air.”
Paige implores other parents, “Please take any hit to the head seriously. I cant say this enough. My heart is broken. Our child is laying in front of us yet we miss him so terribly. I need you to hear me…get your kids checked out!”
Now Colton is 7-months-old and has come a long way from the doctors’ initial concerns that he may not survive his injuries.
