Mom Breaks Down After Watching 3-Year-Old Daughter Practice A Lockdown Drill
When Stacey Feeley snapped a picture of her 3-year-old daughter standing on a toilet seat, she thought it was a game her daughter was playing.
Feeley took the picture to show her husband what their mischievous little toddler was getting up to, but when her daughter told her what she was actually doing, she couldn’t help but breakdown.
Her child was in fact practicing a drill for what to do in the event of an active shooter in a building.
As a Mom, this must have been a frightening realisation to know that this is what the world has come to. At that age, the toddler probably does not even understand exactly what she is practicing, but it’s still a harsh reality.
Feeley shared this picture on her Facebook Page which has been shared more than 36,000 times. Many commenters on the post were quite surprised to learn that such a young child has to practice this sort of drill.
In her post she said: “Politicians – take a look. This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great grand children and future generations to come. They will live their lives and grow up in this world based on your decisions. They are barely 3 and they will hide in bathroom stalls standing on top of toilet seats. I do not know what will be harder for them? Trying to remain quiet for an extended amount of time or trying to keep their balance without letting a foot slip below the stall door?”
Feely also pleaded for Entrepreneurs and Innovators to come up with ways to help.
“I want to know what new smart technology is being built for safer guns, advanced security in public places, databases, traveling care for the mentally ill…anything! Entrepreneurs, innovators, are you there? Can I help? Can I help you make a difference? I want to offer support. I cannot give you techie advice, expertise in healthcare, or financial backing, BUT maybe I can point you in the right direction?”
She ended off the post saying: ““I am not pretending to have all the answers or even a shred of them, but unless you want your children standing on top of a toilet, we need to do something!”
This post came just days after a gunman in Orlando carried out possibly the most deadly mass shooting in U.S. history.

No this is the world the people created. For 8 years under Bush we were safe after 9/11. We were safe under Reagan and Safe under George Bush. Every time a Democrat has run the White House we get attacked because of their ignorance. They are so intent on taking away our freedoms and rights that they miss the big picture. Hate to make this political but this is what Gun Owners and Republicans are fighting against. Stupid Gun Free Zones don’t work. TSA, don’t work, the FBI sucks, our schools are a disgrace, worried about teaching islamn. It is disgusting that people let it get this far. Do You NOT understand that we have a president who is so worried about protecting Muslims and the world of Islam that he ignores the American people. Wake up people.
As for this little girl, where in the world would she learn something like this? My kids have always been taught how to defend themselves, in case we weren’t there. Not because we feared something would happen but “just in case”.

Susi how did you teach your kids to defend themselves against an active shooter? How would you suggest this 8 year old act if there was an active shooter at her school?
You say that every time we’re run by a democrat we get attacked – didn’t 9/11 happen on Bush’s watch?
