Former That ’70s Show co-stars who got married – Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher – have one of those semi-private Hollywood romances, but Kunis recently opened up to Entertainment Tonight about their two children, Wyatt and Dimitri.

More specifically, she opened up about her and Kutcher’s decision to not give their children any Christmas presents.

Kunis, who was brought up in communist Russia and has a Jewish background, fully participates in American Christmas traditions like decorating the tree. However, when it comes to gift-giving, “So far, our tradition is no presents for the kids.”

The new rule has come about due to her previous experiences with her now three-year-old daughter Wyatt: “We’re instituting it this year because when the kids are [younger than] one, it doesn’t really matter. Last year when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was two and it was too much. We didn’t give her anything — it was the grandparents. The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff.”

As her and Kutcher’s son Dimitri turns a year old soon, Mila has instead asked her well-intentioned parents and in-laws, “‘We’re begging you — if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation, to the Children’s Hospital [of Los Angeles] or a pet [or] whatever you want.’ That’s our new tradition.”

These days, you don’t have to look very far to find a Mother that is being shamed in one form or another.  Lately, celebrity Moms have been feeling the brunt of it. From Kim Kardashian, her sister Kourtney and even the Queen B has been the target of Mom shaming for various reasons.

The internet can be so cruel.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Lopez says that her 8-year-old twins Emme and Max are being homeschooled simply because she doesn’t get to see them as often as she would like to because of her gruesome work schedule.

With the kids at her side, not only do they get to continue learning, but they also have more opportunities to spend time as a family.

She said, “We don’t have a normal life. I don’t have normal kids. I’m not normal. So our life is not normal. I’ve come to terms with that.” 

What’s more, Lopez says that she always feels so pressured to send her children to a traditional school so her kids can have the same experiences as other kids their age.

She further explained, “Everybody’s like, ‘You should have them in school, they need friends.’ It drives me – it can drive you crazy. They are super happy, well-adjusted, loving, caring kids, and that’s the most important thing. We’ll get them educated – homeschool is great for them, when we have to do it. The most important thing is that they’re with their mom — that they don’t feel abandoned by a parent.”

Unfortunately, her critics are now blasting her by commenting with, “Seriously? She comes off so self-absorbed it’s disgusting. Her kids should be in school even if it’s a private school! The kids need to be around their own kind to learn how to socialize and interact. I believe she is doing more harm than good!” along with:

“They should go to school. She’s just to lazy and selfish to be bothered with that. And she figures they will just live off her money later on anyway. Just because she dropped out of college, doesn’t mean they should be educated. They need to be properly educated! Not just when she “thinks” they need it.”

Well if it works for Jennifer and her kids are happy – who are these critics to judge?
