A Missouri man has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death
According to Joplin Globe, Jalen Da’Shawn Vaden, 22, was imprisoned in Jasper County Jail on Wednesday while the death of 3-year-old Jayda Kyle was being investigated.
The girl died on Friday afternoon, three days after police responded to a call from her Carl Junction home.
She had stopped breathing when the authorities arrived. Based on the records, it was the first time the police had been called to the home.
Kyle was hospitalized immediately, then she was airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she died. Investigators believe that Vaden was responsible for her death.
The result of autopsy shows that Kyle died because of severe head injury.
Vaden’s arrest came after authorities conducted interviews with both him and the victim’s mother. The two were reportedly in a relationship.
Jasper County prosecutors are preparing an indictment in the case to charge Vaden with child abuse resulting in death.
Kyle’s family donated her organs to patients in need of transplants.
