This decided mother investigated every possibility to guarantee that her little girl who was not able hear and see would have the capacity to accomplish what at first appeared to be totally unthinkable.
Nicolly Pereira from Santa Catarina, Brazil, was determined to have pediatric glaucoma during childbirth; this implied she was visually impaired because of liquid development in her eyes. Her ears were likewise hindered with liquid, so she couldn’t hear either. She needed to speak with her mother through touch: delicate stroking or embracing.
She was operated several times but the doctors in Brazil were still unsuccessful in restoring her sight or hearing. Therefore, her mom began fundraising to send Nicolly to Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. After that, she posted her story on Facebook, and through the Jackson Health Foundation’s International Kids Fund and she was helped by some generous donors. She had finally raised US$17,000 for the life-changing surgery.
After the three-hour operation performed by Alana Grajewski, M.D., was successful. The the 2-year-old girl’s life had stepped to a new page.
Daiana told the Miami Herald “The only word that can be used to describe the feeling is ‘God,’ My daughter is free now. She now shines more than before. She has now become a reference for people who didn’t believe in miracles.’”
“When she arrived, I felt I had made a mistake, because normally when the children arrive, they have some sort of vision that’s measurable. We have a technician look at them initially and … they wrote down that Nicolly couldn’t see anything, not even a light,” Dr. Grajewski said.
Dr. Ramzi Younis, a pediatric ENT master at UHealth, led a 30-minute operation to deplete the liquid that had collected in her ears and that had kept her from hearing.
And now she can see, hear, loves singing, and be able to stand independently. Rose-colored glasses for one adorable kid! Appreciatively the three-hour surgery was successful, and although Nicolly had to wear glasses because she is short-sighted. Finally, the world is much brighter for her. All the colors and everythings had clearer than ever.

“All of a sudden, she realized, ‘Oh, my gosh, that’s my mom,’ and her mother could tell the recognition. It was just one of those priceless moments,” said Dr. Grajewski.
School janitor lays his hand on bald girl’s head. Days later she notices a ‘mysterious’ change
Most of us take our hair – our “crowning glory” – for granted. Many women love hair stylisting, enjoy experimenting with many different colors and styles. They try many many styles such as: curl, straight, blone and even shave into shape. Except some who have no hair, because of chemotherapy or some other medical condition.
Andrea Roussel had never brushed her hair as well as experienced the joy of brushing it. Because she simply hadn’t had any since she was a kid. But a stranger came and helped change all that in a really unusual way. It’s so overwhelming. And you could call it a miracle.
This young lady was born with a lot of hair, but two years later, her hair fell out in patches, and by the time she was 4, she was totally bald. She was diagnosed with alopecia, an incurable autoimmune disease that causes hair loss.
She said: “I always remember being bald.”
Since she was bald, she had to wear wigs. The first time wasn’t happy at all. The wigs she wore were netted and had to be stuck on with tape. “They look fake” she said. After that, her parents were searching for another company. Finally, they found an especially company that made custom-made wigs, which “were quite expensive, but they were beautiful,” said Andrea.
Andrea admits she wasn’t really bothered by having no hair. She said: “In my head, I just thought, ‘Well nobody knows I have a wig on, and nobody can tell.’ And to me, I had hair … I had perfect reddish brown hair that I could put bows in, and I learned how to french braid. It was kind of an accessory; it was kind of like a shoe. I stuck out easily and again, it wasn’t a big thing for me. I just couldn’t grasp that it really was such a significant thing to be 16 and be a girl walking around bald.”
Instead of wearing wigs when played hockey on the school team, Andrea opted to wear a bandanna.
One day, while she was walking through the gym after practice then she heard someone call out to her, “Excuse me, ma’am?” It was the school janitor Greg. That’s when her life changed. Greg had assumed she had undergone chemo for cancer and lost her hair.
“I just explained to him like everyone else I had in 20 years, that I didn’t have cancer, that I just had Alopecia and no big deal. And he said, ‘Well God thinks hair is important, too. Do you mind if I still pray?’ And I was like, by all means.”
Greg told CBN “I felt compassion for her.” She totally don’t know that day, she touched the magical.
Andrea remembered “So he took off his gloves which I guess I remember so brightly because nobody had ever went to lay hands on me or even really prayed for my hair because again, I was fine, I was healthy.”
Few moments later, her teammates on the hockey team had recognised her eyelashes had grown, and not only that, incredibly they could see her hair. How surprising it is! She began to grow hair all over her head.
She said with happiness: “At the end of October, it just was so blatant. I mean, it was all over my head like a baby’s coming in … peach fuzz. It just kept growing, and I went back to meet with Greg, the janitor and was like, ‘Keep praying, look!’”
“To go twenty years completely bald and then have it grow back is something completely significant,” Andrea confessed.
Andrea absolutely won’t forget the encounter for the rest of her life.
