The teenager and his friends were walking in the woods off Playpen Drive in Westside Jacksonville, when they came across a chop shop at approximately 1pm on Sunday.According to police, the group of friends came across five men who were stripping a stolen car, before the men opened fire on the teens.

“I seen a 13 year old coming down the sidewalk and he was asking me to help him. I was just trying to keep him calm so he wouldn’t bleed out or something or pass out,” he recalls.

After examining the woodland area, officers found two stolen cars and shell casings there.

Gleason spoke to Action News Jax reporter Kevin Clark, where he recalled the incident. “I thought someone was messing with me. That was not true. I realized they were serious.” Gleason said the assailant said “Give me the keys pops,” while holding a gun to his neck.

Kathryn Gleason, Andrew’s wife told how she was shocked to hear that their car had been found in the Jacksonville area.

I figured it was long gone from here. I figured it was in another state somewhere,” she said.

“I just hope they find them because I can’t wait to be able to face them in a courtroom, because I’m going to tell them exactly what I think of them,” Kathryn Gleason told reporters.

Obviously relieved to have their car back, the couple said they will be taking it to a Nissan dealership to get it checked over.

A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said that their officers tried to find the five men involved in the shooting of the 13 year old boy. However, police were unable to come up with anything in relation to the men’s identities, after speaking with several people in the area who said they did not hear anything.
