Babysitter Brittney Mae Lyon and her boyfriend Samuel Cabrera Jr have been arrested for multiple charges of conspiracy and child molestation.
Lyon, who was hired to babysit two 7-year-old girls is being accused of filming her boyfriend allegedly molesting the children. One of the victims is a child with special needs.
After one of the girls spoke out, Carlsbad Police Department began looking into the case. Carlsbad Police Lt. Marc Reno said.
“We had a 7-year-old female report to her mother that she didn’t want to go to the babysitter’s, because the babysitter used to bring her over to Sam’s house,”
After serving search warrants, Lyon and Cabrera Jr were arrested for the crimes. They have both subsequently pleaded not guilty.
Authorities claim that 22-year-old Lyon, repeatedly took 2 young girls to the home of her boyfriend, Cabrera Jr. (also 22) in Carlsbad, and then filmed as he molested them. Investigators say they uncovered video evidence while searching the home on Greenhaven Drive.
They have been charged with multiple charges which include conspiracy to molest, 3 counts of child molestation, forcible lewd acts on a child and conspiracy to kidnap for the purposes of molestation. If convicted, the pair face life imprisonment.
Both have been deemed a “substantial risk to public safety” and bail has been set to $2.6-million each.
