A Bullied Boy’s Tearful Plea Has Gone Viral
“Just out of curiosity, why do they bully? What’s the point of it? Why do you find joy in taking innocent people, and finding a way to be mean to them? It’s not ok.”
These are the powerful opening words from bullied Tennessee boy Keaton Jones, in a video posted by his mother Kimberly to Facebook. Kimberly explains that her son asked her to record him after she had to pick him up from school because he was afraid to go to lunch. This was not the first time she had to do this.
The video shows just how distraught the young boy is at the hands of the relentless bullying he has to endure on a daily basis. It’s no wonder that his tearful confession has taken the internet by storm. The video was posted on the 8th of December and has already been viewed a whopping 22 million times, with around 168,000 comments and almost 450,000 shares.
Kimberly asked her son what the bullies say to him at school, to which he replies “They make fun of my nose, they call me ugly and they say I have no friends.” She also asked him to tell her what they do to him at lunch, because it is not the first time she has picked him up for being scared.
“They put milk on me and put ham down my clothes, threw bread at me,” Keaton explained. “People who are different don’t need to be criticized about it, it’s not their fault,” the heartbroken young boy explains through tears.

Kimberly explains to her friends on Facebook that “My kids are by no stretch perfect, & at home, he’s as all boy as they come, but by all accounts he’s good at school.” However, she pleads with others to talk to their children telling them “I’ve even had friends of mine tell me they’re kids were only nice to him to get him to mess with people.”
“We all know how it feels to want to belong, but only a select few know how it really feels not to belong anywhere,” Kimberly writes.

Keaton finishes the video with some advice for others who may be being bullied. Although he’s not sure if he is the only boy being targeted by these particular bullies as he says they do it to him enough of the time. “But if you are made fun of, don’t let it bother you. Stay strong I guess, it’s hard, but it will probably get better one day,” he says as he struggles to keep his composure.
Thousands have rallied behind Keaton and his family, offering some encouraging words of advice. Most of the comments are from people urging Keaton to stay strong; some have said “You’re a better man than they will ever be my friend. Your right it will get better. Be strong,” and “It breaks my heart that people treat others like this. You’re worth a million of any bully out there, Keaton! Stay strong!”
